Rohan Kanhai was a former West Indian cricketer who played from the 1950s to the 1970s. He was known for his stylish batting and aggressive stroke play, particularly his ability to play spin bowling with finesse.
Kanhai made his Test debut for the West Indies in 1957 against England and went on to have a distinguished career, playing 79 Test matches and scoring over 6,000 runs at an average of 47.53. He was also a brilliant fielder and occasional wicketkeeper for the team.
Kanhai was part of the famous West Indies team that dominated world cricket in the 1960s and 1970s, often referred to as the "Calypso Cricketers". He was known for his ability to score runs quickly and change the course of a game with his aggressive stroke play.
After retiring from international cricket, Kanhai went on to coach and be involved in cricket administration. He was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame in 2009 in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the game.
